Our advanced nurse practitioners consult in a similar manner to the doctors. They will see patients with a wide variety of minor illnesses ensuring the doctors have appointments to see more complex issues.
The following is a rough guide as to the conditions they manage:
Ear, nose, throat and chest problems
Skin - rashes, infected wounds, shingle, nappy rash, eczema
Abdomen - abdominal pain, constipation, Diarrhoea and Vomiting, Indigestion etc.

MB ChB DRCOG FP Cert - Entered general practice in 1985 following vocational training. Interests include maternity, family planning, care of the elderly and respiratory problems.

MB ChB DRCOG DCH DFFP MRCGP - Joined the practice in February 2008. Interests include paediatrics and women's health.

Dr Pearson joined the surgery in 2016 having previously been a partner in a surgery in Ayr.

Dr Roslyn Smith is currently working with us as a long term locum while Dr Hood is off on maternity leave. Complementing the GP team we also have a GP trainee, Dr Nish Mehta who is a fully qualified doctor and in the final year of her GP training.

BSc (Hons) RGN NP Dip FP Cert - Sister Duthie is an experienced practice nurse who has undertaken additional training to become a nurse practitioner. This training has enabled her to examine, diagnose, prescribe and treat many conditions in the same way a GP does. Sister Duthie also specialises in the management of diabetes and chronic heart disease.
