Our advanced nurse practitioners consult in a similar manner to the doctors.  They will see patients with a wide variety of minor illnesses ensuring the doctors have appointments to see more complex issues.

The following is a rough guide as to the conditions they manage:

Ear, nose, throat and chest problems

Eyes

Skin - rashes, infected wounds, shingle, nappy rash, eczema

Gynaecology

Abdomen - abdominal pain, constipation, Diarrhoea and Vomiting, Indigestion etc.

Nurses

Our practice nursing team provides a wide range of services including diabetic, heart disease, hypertension, asthma and COPD clinics, immunisations and travel vaccination/advice, dressings, cervical smears, ear-syringing, pill checks, blood pressure monitoring and blood tests. They can also advise on a variety of health related issues such as dietary advice, weight reduction and smoking cessation.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
